Hope House is the hope of the small congregation of the Portlandville Methodist Church. Hope House was the parsonage for the church, but had not been used in many years - the congregation only consisted of 25 people and they had shared their minister with the next village. It fell into grave disrepair until someone had the bright idea of renovating it and renting it weekly during the summer. 160 years young! |

The income from the summer rentals has saved the house and the extra monies support the church's ministries!
This beautiful and bright 1849 house was totally renovated in 2007. It now sparkles with all the modern conveniences, but with some original hardwood floors and plenty of character.
