On the National Register of Historic Houses, just 3 miles from Downtown Cooperstown and The Baseball Hall of Fame, nestled in the quiet Hamlet of Historic Fly Creek, within walking distance of the General Store, Cider Mill, and local restaurants sits a newly refurbished 1825 farmhouse overlooking the well manicured old dairy cow barn and pasture. |

Sitting on 25 acres of fields and a winding trail through the woods, there is much to explore and enjoy in this country home. Minutes from Cooperstown, Doubleday Field, Otsego Lake, and the Opera this home is central to all that the area has to offer. Built as a subdivision for the bustling industrial Dutch settlement in the early 1800s, the four homes were central to the mills that lined the highway leading into Cooperstown powered by the large mill pond located next door. The homes and surrounding lands were purchased under a single estate by the Medcalf family in the mid 1800s. Over the next 50 years the Murdoch family then Bliss family tore down the old factories and converted the old mill pond and grounds into an estate. |

In the early 1900s the homes and lands were sold off and converted into residences and a dairy farm. Although one house and barn were lost to fire over the years, much of the old estate still remains. Over the past 6 years the houses and lands have been reacquired under single ownership once again by the Bohm family. They have been spending their time and energy renovating and restoring the buildings and grounds back to the turn of the century estate. Their hard work was recently recognized in the Fall of 2009 by the Otsego 2000 Preservation Society for an award of the pond restoration.
